Presidential Fund Awards Scholarships to Children of Lottery Sellers in North Central Province
A special ceremony organized by the President’s Fund was held on August 23, 2026, at the North Central Provincial Council Auditorium to award educational scholarships and financial aid to the children of low-income lottery sellers across the region.
The event brought together nearly 300 participants, including students, parents, and public officials, featuring the ceremonial presentation of scholarship cheques by the President’s Fund to assist local families with their educational needs.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking state dignitaries, including Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Speaker of Parliament Dr. Asoka Ranwala, and North Central Province Chief Secretary J.M.R.P. Jayasinghe, alongside leadership from the Development Lotteries Board and National Lotteries Board.
During the event, the distinguished guests personally presented the scholarship cheques to selected student beneficiaries.
This collaborative initiative underscores the government’s commitment to easing financial burdens on low-income lottery agents while ensuring uninterrupted educational opportunities for their children.
